The six municipal councilors and the mayor are elected at large every four years.  The councilor with the largest popular vote becomes the deputy mayor.

Council meets the third Monday of every month in the council chambers of the town hall.  Meetings are open to the public.  Each councilor chairs one of the operating committees:
Finance and Administration; Parks and Recreation; Planning, Promotion, and Tourism; Police and Fire; Property, By-laws and Environment; Public Works.  Council members also sit as representatives on a variety of community boards and committee.
