Our climate is temperate but greatly affected by the Bay of Fundy. The bay is a cool body of water which acts as a natural air conditioner in the summer and diverts major snow storms in the winter. The bay never freezes. Average summer temperature is 22 degrees Celsius(72^o F); Average winter temperature is -3.9 degrees Celsius(25^o F).

The area lies in a humid temperate zone and the climate can be characterized as moderate. The frost-free period lasts about 160 days. Distinct seasons allow for a wide variety of outdoor activities from skiing to sailing

*It should be noted that the temperatures listed above are based on "day-night"averages. The normal daytime temperature, during the summer months, on a fair day, is about 24ºC ( 75ºCF). St. Stephen is known as the "Bahamas of the Maritimes" because of its beautiful summer weather.
